Sat. & Sun., Aug. 4 & 5, Noon - 6 PM Major Used Book Sale & Art Sale Dear Friends, This weekend with your generosity and sacrifice we will raise $3,500 with a major used book sale and art sale to ensure that Revolution Books / Libros Revolución can continue to play its unique role as a center for the movement for revolution.     At stake: ensuring that Revolution Books continues as the place where people can come from all over the world to find the books and the deep engagement about why the world is the way it is and the possibility of a radically different way the world could be. Fresh stirrings of struggle continue around the world and here in the U.S. at a moment of deepening economic and political crisis. People need stories and analyses of the depth of the problems and their causes. We need a way out of the madness and horror. It is critical for the future is that this possibility not be lost. There is no other place, no other bookstore that fills such a great need. Revolution Books challenges conventional wisdom that this capitalist system is the best humanity can do -- it brings to people the reality that there is a way out, a new synthesis of communism brought forward by Bob Avakian, which is a viable vision and strategy for a radically new, and much better, society and world.  Join us this weekend to buy books and art, bring donations to help reach our much-needed goal, enjoy refreshments, and brainstorm about upcoming events including: 1) stopping racial profiling, police murder, and mass incarceration 2) taking patriarchy by storm, in coordination with the counteroffensive in New York City 3) challenging USA #1 chauvinism in the realm of sports. And stop in to sign a banner in support of the brave resisters of Anaheim.  Justice for Manuel Diaz & Joel Acevedo - The Whole Damn System Is Guilty!    This week bring your quality, progressive used books (see suggestions below) to Revolution Books.  We will get them back in circulation to the people who yearn for a different future, and you will help keep this all-volunteer bookstore open and growing. Thanks to those last week who brought bags of great books, and to the professor who donated a dozen boxes of books. A good start! Volunteers are needed to set up and be part of this event.      Become a Friend of Revolution Books by donating $20 or more on a monthly basis, or a minimum of $240 every year.  Expanding the network of Friends is the KEY to this all-volunteer bookstore becoming self-sufficient, and will enable us to greatly expand the stock of the store.  Donate generously HERE.
